THEORY

Guitar theory is actually very easy and fun to learn. It is the “aha!” moment when things start clicking into place— understanding theory helps you figure out your favorite songs by ear, and when you want to start writing your own material.

RHYTHM

You may or may not naturally have good rhythm, but to really learn how to play, there are certain tools that benefit everyone. I utilize sheet music and good tab notation to help you understand tempo, strumming and finger picking patterns. Reading music early on and nailing down great rhythm is the first step to truly mastering the instrument and unlocking the guitar puzzle box.

LEAD

Playing lead comes as you learn your own guitar voice. I teach a variety of scale and arpeggio pattern techniques to get you there. Once you learn the scales’ location on the fretboard you can start creating your own epic riffs or simply just rock out to your favorite jam track or song.
